New probiotic encapsulation technology opens the door to formulations

Probiotic manufacturer Vesale Pharma has applied for a microencapsulation technology patent with the European Patent Office. The new technology has the ability to close off probiotic strains from the outside world, making them more resistent to damaging elements such as; water, heat and oxygen. The microencapsulation technology may open up endless possibilities for the formulations of products, which has until now been limited due to incompatibility issues with certain ingredients. In the near future, we may see products with multiple high strength ingredients as well as probiotics in just one capsule!
