After enjoying a successful show last year as part of the Nutri Centre stand, this year we thought we would branch out and try a stand of our very own! And we are happy that we did. The weekend was thoroughly enjoyable, everyone seemed in a good mood, and we met lots of friendly CAM practitioners, therapists, retailers.
September 2009 - Rude Health Show
The OptiBac Probiotics team returned to the Rude Health Show in Dublin this year with gusto, wowing trade and consumers alike with the new packaging. Turn out was impressive, demonstrating the growing interest in the health industry.
We decided that in order to keep up with the new branding and packaging, our website needed a full makeover. Our team has been working hard over the last few months to develop the look, feel and efficacy of the new website –improving navigation and more than doubling the amount of content available about probiotics and OptiBac Probiotics in particular. As the Experts in Friendly Bacteria, we want to be your first point of call when you need information on probiotics!
The OptiBac Probiotics website now includes a Probiotics Glossary, new and improved FAQs, specialist health articles such as Probiotics & Eczema, and further info pages such as Why OptiBac? Specific features have seen great improvement, for example the Locate Your Nearest Stockist function is now far more convenient, providing an immediate response to your query. We will also be developing our Retailer Space in the coming months – extra information, tips and advice especially for our retailers.

May 2009 – OptiBac Probiotics Press Release – OptiBac Probiotics For your child’s health decreases the risk of common childhood infections by about 25%.
OptiBac Probiotics proudly announced the results of a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of For your child’s health, formerly known as ProbioStart. The study enrolled 135 healthy children who had suffered from at least three episodes of ear-nose-throat (ENT), bronchopulmonary or gastric disorder during the course of the previous winter. Half of the children were given the synbiotic (probiotic and prebiotic combination) For your child’s health for a period of three months, and the others were given a placebo. 50% of the children in the synbiotic group resisted ENT, bronchopulmonary or gastric disorders during the winter of the study, compared to 32.9% of children in the placebo group; representing a 25% decrease in the risk of infections in the children given For your child’s health.
May 2009 – The Mind, Body & Spirit Festival London 2009 
OptiBac Probiotics exhibited with the Nutri Centre at this year’s successful Mind, Body & Spirit Festival. MBS organisers welcomed thousands of visitors to Victoria’s Royal Horticultural Halls, with inspirational and innovative workshops to stimulate the mind, rejuvenate the body, and lift the spirit. The OptiBac team were delighted to swap our suits and high heels for shorts and silk skirts as to blend into the crowd, all the while raising awareness of the benefits of the probiotics range. It was a very enjoyable show all round, each member of the team left the festival with a souvenir or two – from spiritual books or massage oils through to newly acquired belly dancing skills!

The Natural & Organic Products Europe show at Olympia saw an incredible 8,000 visitors this year, 
demonstrating the determination, and indeed ability, of people in the natural health sector to defy the current economic climate. DTECTA exhibited as OptiBac Probiotics, giving visitors a sneak peek of the new brand. The response from both current and prospective retailers was overwhelmingly positive, as we wowed the crowds with our bright new packaging and hip new style!
April 2009 – Town & Village 
‘Anna’s Natural Health Column’ featured an article entitled “Help for your immune and digestive systems – a special probiotic blend”. And a special probiotic blend it is indeed, DTECTA’s very own Immunox.
