OptiBac in Depth
Why is there maltodextrin in some of the OptiBac Probiotics range?
We use small amounts of maltodextrin as a stabilising excipient in some of the probiotics range. It does not feed the bacteria nor harm the probiotics. Maltodextrin generally falls under the category of a carbohydrate, yet is easier to digest than most carbohydrates as it is derived from a natural source. The maltodextrin in the OptiBac Probiotics range comes from either potatoes or corn, is therefore GMO-free and suitable for celiacs.
