Yours magazine has mentioned our ‘For your cholesterol’ product in their health and vitality feature.

Yours magazine loves 'For your cholesterol'

In addition to saying that they ‘love’ the product they explain that it:

‘uses specific probiotic strains with added omega-3 in a formulation that is easily absorbed.’

The feature goes on to say that:

‘Probiotics have been found to reduce bad LDL cholesterol and, along with heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids, one study suggests they could reduce total cholesterol by 14 percent.’

The only small alteration I would make to that statement is to say that not all strains of probiotic bacteria ‘have been found to reduce LDL cholesterol’. As always you need to select the correct strains of bacteria for the job. Different strains of bacteria perform different functions in the body, and there are only a select few strains of live cultures that positively impact on cholesterol levels.

If any health care practitioners wish to recommend probiotics for elevated cholesterol levels, they may be interested in the research in to the three strains of Lactobacillus plantarum that are in ‘For your cholesterol’ (namely Lactobacillus plantarum CECT 7527, Lactobacillus plantarum CECT 7528, Lactobacillus plantarum CECT 7529). To read more about that practitioners can click through to our research pages here.
