What are live cultures?

Live, or active cultures, refer to the microorganisms found in foods such as yoghurt, which may be beneficial for human health. The term 'live cultures' is increasingly used instead of the term 'probiotics' and a common example is the species acidophilus.

What is acidophilus?

Acidophilus is a particular species of natural bacteria from the Lactobacillus family. It has been well researched in areas such as traveller’s health, taking natural bacteria alongside antibiotics, and Candida overgrowth.
