For a flat stomach
Abdominal or stomach bloating is usually associated with food intolerances, constipation, over-eating, PMS or intestinal gas; leaving the abdomen feeling uncomfortable, full and tight. When digestion is poor, waste materials and the gases they produce can remain in the gut for long periods of time - often at high temperatures and pressures - stretching the gut walls beyond their comfortable limits.
An imbalance of bad pathogenic bacteria and friendly probiotic bacteria in the gut can result in poor digestive health, production of smelly and uncomfortable gases and sluggish bowel function. A one-week course of OptiBac Probiotics For a flat stomach re-balances the good bacteria in the small and large intestines to support healthy digestion and good intestinal passage for a comfortably flat stomach.
How does For a Flat stomach work?
Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell-52: a natural resident of the intestinal microflora; this strain of acidophilus has been well tested to survive gastric acidity and biliary salts expected at mealtimes and to reach the intestines without damage. Lactobacillus acidophilus adheres to the cell wall lining of the intestines where it exerts beneficial effects in terms of inhibiting intestinal pathogens and supporting immune cells.
Bifidobacterium bifidum Rosell-71: naturally resident in the colonic (large intestine) microbiotia, B.bifidum supports the production of antibodies, promotes detoxification and maintains resistance to undesirable pathogenic and putrefactive bacteria. In the colon, B.bifidum flourishes well with fructooligosaccharides (prebiotics) where it supports the intestines to assist transit, promote comfort and optimise a healthy frequency and regularity of bowel movements.
Lactobacillus casei Rosell-215: an extensively studied species naturally residing in the intestinal flora; this strain has been researched in its ability to resist gastric acidity and bile salts in the harsh stomach environment in order to reach the small and large intestines alive where it exerts its probiotic benefits. L. casei has been shown to modulate the composition and growth of bifidobacteria in the colon and to support regularity.
Lactococcus lactis Rosell-1058: Extracted from the kefir culture, Lactococcus lactis is renowned for its antimicrobial benefits in supporting the body against undesirable bacteria and some fungi.
Prebiotics: Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) predominantly settle in the large intestine where it acts as a food source to stimulate abundant growth of bifidobacteria. The symbiotic relationship between bifidobacteria and prebiotics in the colon has a great impact on supporting intestinal health and wellbeing, reducing the unpleasant effects of bloating.

Background Information
We each have roughly 100,000,000,000,000 bacteria in our intestines, weighing around 1.5 kg! This microflora is made up of both friendly probiotic bacteria and bad pathogenic bacteria that co-exist in a complex ecosystem. Having a healthy balance of probiotics over pathogens plays an important role in digestion and immunity.
Probiotics play a key role in digestion. A healthy balance of friendly bacteria in the intestines provides specific enzymes needed in the digestion of particular substances, produces B complex vitamins and vitamin K, and improves the absorption and uptake of minerals and nutrients in the diet.
Probiotics also help maintain overall immunity as up to two-thirds of the body's immunity is managed in the intestines. Where there is a healthy balance of acidophilus and other probiotics in the intestines, acidity is high which hinders the growth and survival of bad bacteria, and enables the growth of friendly bacteria to multiply and exclude the bad bacteria.
However, the balance of bacteria in the gut is fragile and can easily be disrupted by several factors such as antibiotics, ageing, diet, environment and the menstrual cycle.
OptiBac Probiotics For a flat stomach is a unique combination of probiotics and prebiotics that helps maintain a healthy balance of friendly bacteria in the intestines to support digestive health, aid transit and promote a comfortably flat stomach.

It is not recommended to give probiotics to severely immunosuppressed patients, infants with short bowel syndrome (SBS), post cardiac surgery patients, patients with pancreatitis, patients with Type 1 diabetes, patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or patients with blood in the stool unless under a doctor's care.
